CAPOEIRA USA in Portland Oregon Capoeira is a martial art and folkloric dance form developed and historically practiced underground by African slaves in Brazil. Through a long history of change and adaptation, contemporary capoeira has evolved into an art-form with many athletic and acrobatic elements alongside dance movements, music, and rituals. Capoeira USA was established by Mestre Urubu Malandro in San Francisco, California in 1996. The dedication and hard work of both the students and master have enabled Capoeira USA to grow and prosper in the Capoeira community. Capoeira USA is now represented in Portland Oregon.
